Frequently Asked Questions
The Chronicler has heard these questions many times. He answers patiently.
Getting Started
How do I register on Oswald Verse?
Click Register in the top-right corner. Enter your email, choose a username, and set a password. You will receive a verification email — confirm it to activate your account. Registration is free.
Can I read for free?
Yes. The Adventure Seeker tier (FREE) lets you read all published chapters. Voting, commenting, and the referral programme require a paid tier. The Chronicler notes: reading without voting is permitted, but decisions will be made without you.
How do I vote on the story's direction?
Read a chapter until the end — the voting section is at the bottom. Choose a prophecy and click Vote. 1 token is deducted. Full instructions in the How to Vote guide.
How do I get tokens?
Get a paid tier (1–42 tokens/month depending on tier), earn badges with monthly bonuses, buy token packs in the Token Shop, invite friends through the referral system, or receive tokens from platform events.
How do I change the interface language?
Use the language switcher in the top-right corner of any page. Oswald Verse is available in Polish, English, German, Spanish, and French.
What is an Evolving Chapter?
An Evolving Chapter is published in two parts. Part 1 appears first, giving you time to absorb the story. After a set number of days (typically 3), Part 2 is automatically revealed along with three prophecies. This way, you have time to reflect before making your choice.
Token System
Why did my tokens disappear?
Tokens in the Subscription Pool expire after each monthly renewal — that is the price of renewing the pact with the platform. If you did not use them in time, they are gone. Purchased and Reward tokens remain available while your account stays active. The Chronicler recommends visiting the voting pages regularly before each month ends.
What is the difference between the Subscription Pool and the Purchased Pool?
Subscription Pool tokens are refreshed monthly and expire if unused. Purchased Pool tokens are bought from the Token Shop and remain available while your account stays active. Both are spent the same way — the system uses expiring tokens first.
Can I transfer tokens to another account?
No. Tokens are bound to the account that earned or purchased them. They cannot be transferred.
What happens to my tokens if I cancel my subscription?
Tokens already in your balance remain until the end of your current billing period. Subscription tokens that have not yet been issued for a future month will not be granted. Purchased and Reward tokens are not affected.
Voting & Oath
Can I vote more than once on a chapter?
Yes. You can cast many votes — each costs 1 token. You may support a favourite Prophecy with several votes or vote on several Prophecies at once. While voting is open, an unsealed vote can be revised; after closing, the result is irreversible.
Can I revise an unsealed vote?
Yes, while voting is still open. Revise the vote from the chapter page — the token returns before the new choice is cast. Once voting closes, the result is sealed and no changes are possible.
What is the First Ten Bonus?
The first 10 Guardians to take the Oath after each chapter closes receive a reward-pool bonus equal to 10% of the tokens burned in their own Oath. It is not a share of other burns: burned tokens remain burned, and the bonus is a separate grant.
Are burned tokens really gone forever?
Yes. Tokens burned in the Oath of Consequence are permanently destroyed. There are no exceptions, no refunds, and no reversals. The Chronicler has been asked this question 247 times.
Why is the oath window already closed?
The Oath window lasts only 36 hours after voting closes. If that window has passed, no Oath may be taken for that chapter. Watch for open windows — the countdown is visible on the chapter page.
When can I vote on an Evolving Chapter?
Voting opens only when Part 2 is revealed. Until then, the voting section is hidden and replaced by a Chronicler message with a countdown timer. Once Part 2 appears, you have the standard voting period (typically 3 days) to cast your vote.
What does the countdown timer on a chapter mean?
The countdown timer shows how much time remains until Part 2 of an Evolving Chapter is revealed. When it reaches zero, Part 2 appears automatically along with three prophecies. You do not need to refresh — but you may need to revisit the page.
Badges & Levels
How do I check which badges I can earn?
Visit the Badge Armoury on your dashboard. You'll see badge categories, progress toward your next achievements, and all badges you've already earned. Some badges remain hidden until you meet the right conditions — the Chronicler values the element of surprise.
Why did a badge not activate automatically?
Most badges activate instantly after the triggering action. Some are checked hourly or daily. If a badge has not appeared within 24 hours of meeting its conditions, contact support.
How do I avoid losing my streak?
Log in every day — even just to check the dashboard. The streak resets at midnight. One missed day resets it entirely. The Chronicler offers no sympathy, but suggests setting a daily reminder.
How do monthly token bonuses from badges work?
Certain badges grant a recurring monthly token bonus that is added to your Badge Pool each renewal cycle. It functions like a secondary subscription — the more such badges you hold, the more tokens you receive.
Account & Subscription
How do I change my subscription tier?
Go to Settings → Subscription, or visit the Pricing page. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal date.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel Subscription. You retain access until the end of the current billing period. Your data and earned badges are not affected.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Settings → Security → Delete Account. Erasure of some data begins immediately. For 30 days you can reactivate access and your e-mail address, but erased data will not return; after that, the remaining personal data and sign-in account are permanently erased. Published stories and Canon Ledger entries may remain under an anonymized profile.
How does the referral programme work?
Share your referral link from the Dashboard. When someone registers using your link and subscribes, you receive a reward. Details and progress are visible in the Referrals section of your dashboard.
World & Lore
Who is Chronicler Imponderabilis (Mr. Quill)?
He is the Narrator and Voice of History for Oswald Verse — the keeper of the Canon, the author of the Ledger entries, and the voice that speaks in every warning and every quote across the platform. Whether he truly exists or is a literary device is a question the Chronicler declines to answer.
Does the story have one ending?
The story has the ending that the collective decisions of all Guardians produce. There is one Canon — but which path it takes depends on every vote, every Oath, and every chapter. What happens is what was chosen.
What happens if I don't vote?
History moves on without you. The vote closes, the winning prophecy becomes Canon, and the world changes — whether you participated or not. Your tokens from that month are not refunded. The Chronicler notes: silence is also a choice.
